Homi Bhabha National Institute , one of the reputed deemed universities of India , named after the late Indian physicist Homi J Bhabha. There are four R & D centers , Bhabha Atomic Research Centre ( Mumbai), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research ( Kalpakkam), Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (Indore) and Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (Kolkata).

Courses Offered:
Applications are invited for the admission to Ph. D (DGFS- Ph.d)for pursuing research in an Engineering discipline leading to Ph.D degree. The following are the necessary terms & conditions of the Fellowship:
a) The DGFS- Ph. D Fellowship is tenable for 3 years for doing Ph. D in an Engineering field in one of the four R & D centers listed.
b) The amount of Fellowship payable under the scheme is Rs 18,000 besides house rent and medical benefit as per rules.
c) The selected Fellows will carry out research under the joint supervision of two guides, one having strength in basic research and another in technology development.
d) After completion of Ph.D, the DGFS- Ph.D fellows will have the option for selection under K S Krishnan Research Association (KSKRA) programme without screening test. The KSKRA every year pays stipend of Rs 20,000.

Eligibility:

Academic Qualification: Candidates must have a M.E/ M. Tech degree or equivalent degree in Mechanical / Chemical/ Metallurgical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or Computer Engineering with at least 60% marks in B.E / B. Tech and minimum marks of 60% marks in M.E / M.Tech or equivalent degree .

Age Limit: Candidate should have been born on or after January 1, 1983. Age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC. Please note, that the age limit for the candidates those who are working as faculty in Engineering Colleges would be granted till 40 years of age.

Nationality: An applicant has to be an Indian citizen.
